Prison Officer - HMP Ranby

Location: Retford, DN22 8EU

Starting salary: £35,875 for a 39 hour week (including 20% unsocial)

Hours can be 37, 39 or 41 per week after training.

Eligibility

• At least 18 years old
• Meet Civil Service nationality requirements
• Pass medical and fitness assessment (eyesight, hearing)
• Resident in the UK for the last 3 years to work in a high security prison (category A)

Nationality requirements

• UK nationals
• Republic of Ireland nationals
• Commonwealth nationals with the right to work in the UK
• EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein nationals and their settled or pre settled family members
• Limited or indefinite leave to remain eligible under EUSS
• Turkish nationals and certain family members with Civil Service work rights

Travel to Work

Some prisons are in rural locations; a driving licence and personal transport are beneficial but not essential.

Pay

• 37 hours/week - £33,746 per year
• 39 hours/week - £35,875 per year
• 41 hours/week - £38,003 per year Benefits
