Eligible candidates should have (or be working towards) GCSEs and be able to undertake an advanced level apprenticeship (level 3).

Minimum eligibility: at least three passes at GCSE Grade C (or 4) including Mathematics and English Language. Applicants who have already completed a similar level 3 course are not eligible.

Job Description

As a paid apprentice you will gain hands on experience working on real world civil engineering projects, supporting the Energy team on the design and delivery of infrastructure that enables the UK's transition to Net Zero. You will produce technical drawings, models and documentation using industry standard software, working with engineers and multidisciplinary teams. The programme lasts three years, combining on site work with classroom learning (in person or virtually) at the HLA in Civil Engineering course at Belfast Met.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Energy team in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Produce technical drawings, models and documentation using industry standard software.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend classroom based learning and apply knowledge to real projects.
  • Adopt best practices for quality, safety and sustainability in civil engineering.
