Job Description
Overview

Glencore is one of the world's largest global diversified natural resource companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities that advance everyday life.

Through a network of assets, customers and suppliers that spans the globe, we produce, process, recycle, source, market and distribute the commodities that support decarbonisation while meeting the energy needs of today.

The Glencore 2026 Commodities Spring Week

We are looking for proactive, driven first year university students who are interested in the world of commodities trading to join us for a three-day Spring Week in early April (from April 13 - 15, 2026).

This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure into the world of commodities trading, learning about the day-to-day work of our traders, analysts, and risk managers through presentations, practical case studies and networking opportunities.

You will receive professional skills training and interview guidance, helping you to prepare for a fast paced career upon graduation.

Candidates who are successful in the application process for the Spring Week will be able to take part in an accelerated application process for an industrial placement or graduate programme.

How to apply

Please apply via the provided form, uploading a current CV and responding to the following questions. Include specific examples in your answers.

  • Why are you interested in the commodities sector?
  • What do you want to gain from taking part in a Spring Week at Glencore?
  • Entrepreneurialism is one of Glencore's values - so please tell us about a time you have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset.
Next Steps

If your application is successful, a member of the hiring team will invite you to participate in the following assessment in February:

  • A phone interview, focusing on your interest in Glencore and the commodities industry.
  • A formal video interview, focusing on your research into Glencore and your motivations for taking part in the programme.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and an earlier application may lead to an earlier decision.

You must be a UK based university student in the first or second year of your undergraduate degree and have the right to work in the UK.

Equal Opportunity and Accessibility

One of the aims of this Spring Week is to widen access to careers in the commodities space - we particularly welcome applications from UK based candidates who come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Glencore will provide support towards reasonable travel costs for successful applicants who demonstrate financial need.
