Job SummaryDevelop the student's fullest acquisition of knowledge, skills, concepts, and attitudes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with TRHS and TriDistrict colleagues to implement CS/IT programming as a co instructor in the TriDistrict CAPS CS/IT program, teaching courses such as AP CS A and CompTIA Tech+.
- Co develop and co teach interdisciplinary Computer Science/IT courses with licensed team members, using the home district LMS.
- Design a profession based, career readiness curriculum that integrates high school coursework with workforce demands, working with content and non content area colleagues and community partners.
- Create and implement project based learning activities solving authentic business partner projects in the CS/IT space in partnership with teaching partners and business partners.
- Develop a calendar of career and college readiness activities (speakers, field trips, site visits) with the TriDistrict CAPS Director.
- Plan and oversee immersive learning experiences (internships, mentorship, job shadowing, service learning) for students.
- Maintain relationships with current and future business and community partners, serving as guest speakers, site visit locations, project partners, and internship sites, with regular biweekly check ins.
- Participate in summer curriculum development and professional learning for curriculum/course development.
- Collaborate with TriDistrict staff, administration, and the TriDistrict CAPS Director to support and promote all TriDistrict CAPS Programs, especially the CS/IT program.
- Maintain communication and positive relationships with course host sites.
- Ensure readiness to teach AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles, attending summer AP training if necessary.
The course may be taught off site at a business partner location: 5 days per week in the fall semester and up to 2 days per week in the spring semester. The teacher must be onsite for all class periods and must visit student internship sites in the spring semester. Mileage for fall and spring travel will be reimbursed. The teacher will also assist the co teaching partner and the TRHS AP testing coordinator in preparing for the AP CS A exam administration.
The Ideal Candidate Will- Hold a CTE license in Trades and Industry: Communication.

- Have prior or current experience in a career field outside of education.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have experience in a team teaching or co teaching environment.
- Have experience with curriculum development.
- Hold a high school mathematics license and a Work Based Learning endorsement.
- Be licensed to teach Computer Science or willing to learn.
Applicants with a CTE Business license or Mathematics license and willingness to pursue a Work Based Learning endorsement will also be considered.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in a related field.
License and CertificationValid Minnesota Teaching License or five or more years of teaching experience.
