1:1 Teaching Assistant

Overview

Millfield Prep School is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 3 from 1 September 2026. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, you will support learning, wellbeing and development, helping the pupil access all aspects of school life and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support for learning activities.
• Assist with learning activities, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Support interventions and supervise pupils during duties as required.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support the pupil and the wider school community.

Qualifications and attributes

• Patience, adaptability and ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
• Effective teamwork and strong communication skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Experience of supporting children with special educational needs, emotional regulation or communication needs is an advantage.

Details

This is a fixed-term position commencing on 1 September 2026, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.45pm, term time only. The role will be reviewed annually. Salary: £20,132.89 per annum.
