1-1 Teaching Assistant - Huddersfield

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant with SEND responsibilities to join a caring and inclusive primary school in the Harrogate area on a long term basis from September.

This full time position will begin at the start of the new school year, with the school currently reviewing applications ahead of the September start. The school is highly regarded for its nurturing environment and its strong commitment to ensuring pupils with additional needs receive personalised, consistent support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offering dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND to help them fully access learning
• Using tailored approaches and interventions to promote academic progress, social skills and emotional development
• Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual plans and review ongoing progress

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEND support
• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs in a school setting
• Strong understanding of SEND strategies, communication methods and inclusive practice
• Two school based references
