: Calculation - Autumn 2025 09:00 - 12:00

The Calculation program is designed for pupils in academic years 5 - 8 who need support to understand and develop fluency with formal written methods.

This course costs £1195 for both a Teaching Assistant and Link Teacher to attend.

Please note: To ensure timely delivery of resources to your school, please place your order at least one week before the intervention start date.

Dates:

  • Day 1: Thursday 9th October 2025, 9.00 - 12.00
  • Day 2: Thursday 16th October 2025, 9.00 - 16.00
  • Day 3: Thursday 27th November 2025, 9.00 - 16.00

is a calculation-based intervention for KS2 and KS3 (years 5 to 8) pupils struggling with arithmetic, number, and written calculation skills.

The training enables teaching assistants or teachers to create a tailored program of up to 24 sessions, using tools like number rods, bar modelling, and written methods to develop pupils' arithmetical fluency.

The price includes all training and resources for both the TA and Link Teacher.

Denise has extensive experience as a qualified teacher in Birmingham, having taught across various settings including schools, an Education Action Zone, and a Youth Offending Unit.

As a local authority primary numeracy consultant, she has supported many schools in developing their maths provision. She manages the successful 'Every Child Counts' mathematics interventions, proven to impact underachieving and SEND pupils positively, as well as enhancing teacher and TA subject knowledge and classroom practices.

Currently, Denise delivers the primary statutory assessment contract for moderation and monitoring for Birmingham LA, working closely with moderation managers nationally to ensure consistent understanding of guidance. She trains and accredits KS1 and KS2 pool moderators, equipping schools to meet statutory requirements confidently.
