Job Description
Overview

Joining us as a Youth Worker you will guide and support young people in their personal, social and educational development to help them reach their full potential on our Springboard provision. You will organise educational programs and youth recreational activities such as sports, arts and drama while assessing their health, social and emotional requirements. Working with young people 16+, you will plan and manage community events and social activities, helping the youth understand values and ideas and building their confidence and life skills to ensure they transition well into adulthood.

Responsibilities
  • Organise educational programs and youth recreational activities (e.g., sports, arts and drama) for young people aged 16 and over.
  • Assess health, social and emotional requirements and tailor activities accordingly.
  • Plan and manage community events and run social activities to build values, confidence and life skills.
  • Support young people to understand their place in society and develop their identity, while maintaining a safe environment based on trust and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote positive outcomes and effective safeguarding practices.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual with previous relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining healthy relationships with young people based on trust and respect.
  • Ability to provide a safe environment for young people to grow and explore.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners.
  • Employment is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check; positions in regulated activity may require additional checks. Tameside College will meet the costs associated with this.
