What you'll be doing

About Us - Digital Engineering

We are a forward thinking team committed to modernising engineering and construction delivery through digital transformation. Our programmes focus on implementing digital platforms, improving data quality, and enabling teams to work more efficiently and collaboratively within Engineering Services.

We work closely with operational teams, engineers, and project managers to embed innovative digital tools that comply fully with BIM standards alongside mobile data capture, digital workflows, document management systems and data led decision making.

Role Overview

We're looking for a highly motivated under-graduate to help develop and deliver:

  • Digital Engineering Platforms including Common Data Environments (CDEs), Geographic Information Systems, and BIM technologies used across our engineering disciplines
  • Supporting compliance with internal standards, governance frameworks, and industry best practice
  • Integrating digital workflows with existing engineering and asset management processes
  • Driving innovation in modelling, data management, automation, and digital construction
  • Enabling business change by helping teams adopt new tools, processes, and digital ways of working

You will also spend time with Engineering Digital Design Managers, Data Analysts, Digital Engineers, Project Managers and Project Information Coordinators to ensure you are exposed to all areas of a technical change programme whilst improving your knowledge and skills relating to BIM.

Key Responsibilities

Digital & BIM Support

  • Assist with the implementation of BIM processes, standards, and digital workflows within Engineering Services.
  • Support digital platform configurations and system rollouts across engineering teams.
  • Help maintain consistent digital project documentation, models, and asset information.

Project Support

  • Contribute to planning and delivering digital change projects across the organisation.
  • Work with project teams to collect requirements, map processes, and design user friendly workflows.
  • Support Project Setup within our digital systems.
  • Support testing, feedback collection, training materials, and adoption activities.

Data & Reporting

  • Help improve data quality within digital platforms.
  • Produce dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support decision making.
  • Assist with benefits tracking related to efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Business Change & Engagement

  • Work directly with operational teams to understand challenges and identify digital opportunities.
  • Support communication, training, and engagement activities (drop ins, demos, guides).
  • Help assess user feedback and collate system improvements.
About the role (External)

Who you are matters

You'll need to be in your penultimate year at university, currently studying a relevant built environment or digital construction degree (BIM, digital construction, project management, data led construction) and on track to achieve at least a 2:2.

Interest in BIM, digital workflows, data technologies, or construction innovation.

Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Analytical thinker with attention to detail.

and have the flexibility to occasionally travel to attend training opportunities at various locations in the UK.

We're looking for logical thinkers with a creative approach to solving complex problems. You should be resourceful, hardworking and comfortable managing your own time. We would also like to see great communication skills.
