Job Description

Job Title: Year 6 Teacher
Location: Small Heath, Birmingham
Pay: £150-£232 per day
Job Type: Full-Time / Long-Term

We are seeking an experienced and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Small Heath, Birmingham. This role is ideal for a confident teacher who can support pupils through their final year of primary education and prepare them effectively for their transition to secondary school and SATs.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons, raising attainment, and ensuring pupils are well prepared both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 national curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for Key Stage 2 SATs and support them in reaching their full potential
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
  • Differentiated lessons to support a wide range of abilities
  • Maintain strong classroom management and high behavioural expectations
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and school activities
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and development
  • Ensure safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire pupils
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
