Yard Operative & Delivery Driver

PGE Landscaping Ltd is a leading commercial landscaping contractor delivering high-quality landscaping and grounds maintenance services across the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Yard Operative & Delivery Driver to join our team based at our head office in Alvechurch, Birmingham (B48 7DG).

Position Details

• Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Location: Alvechurch, Birmingham
• Salary: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

The Role

As a Yard Operative & Delivery Driver, you will play an important part in supporting our operational teams by ensuring the yard, equipment, and materials are organised, maintained, and ready for use. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.
• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently using a Telehandler
• Pick, pack, and prepare stock and equipment for operational teams.
• Clean, store plant, machinery, and materials correctly, reporting any damage or defects.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs where qualified.
• Complete accurate stock records and weekly stocktakes.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment tracking.
• Support the Operations and Maintenance teams as required.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Ensure equipment, tools, and work areas are maintained to a high standard.
• Undertake both in-house and retail deliveries as and when required.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated.
• Well organised with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
• Previous yard, warehouse, landscaping, construction, or plant experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Desirable 2 to 3 years' experience in operating a forklift.
