Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Workshop Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to oversee the daily operations of the workshop. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for driving team performance. You will be responsible for ensuring that all workshop activities run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Duties

  • Supervise and lead a small team of workshop staff
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies within the workshop.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and oversee the completion of projects on time. Checking items are correct before being sent out to the customer
  • Handle administrative tasks such as inventory management, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Develop and implement training programmes for staff to enhance skills and performance.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service. Visiting clients on a regular basis, delivering parts to them, ensuring parts arrive undamaged
  • Machinery maintenance. Ensuring all machinery is running in a safe manner
  • Utilise effective time management strategies to optimise productivity within the team.

What we are looking for-

  • Proven experience ( a minimum of 5 years) in a supervisory or managerial role within a workshop or similar environment. You will ideally have worked in kitchen fitting/carpentry but this is not essential. A technical understanding of manufacturing processes is required
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to also be hands-on when deadlines need to be met
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks with strong phone etiquette for client interactions.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales management is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while prioritising multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Full clean driving licence (driving a manual van)
