A global manufacturing organisation operating within high-volume production and engineering environments is seeking a Workshop Machinist (Miller) to join their machining and maintenance support team.

This role sits within a fast-paced manufacturing site producing precision-engineered components for production and operational use. The successful candidate will have strong experience in milling operations and workshop machining.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out precision machining work within the workshop environment, supporting production engineering, maintenance repairs and component fabrication.

This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong machining skills, attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tolerances and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual and/or CNC milling machines to produce precision components

  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and machining instructions

  • Manufacture and repair components to tight tolerances

  • Carry out workshop-based machining and fabrication tasks

  • Support maintenance and production teams with component manufacturing

  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through measurement and inspection

  • Maintain safe working practices and good workshop housekeeping

About You

We are looking for an experienced machinist with strong milling experience within a manufacturing or engineering workshop environment.

Essential
  • Experience operating milling machines (manual or CNC)

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Experience working to tight tolerances

  • Knowledge of machining techniques and workshop practices

  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable
  • Experience with CNC controls and basic programming

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or production engineering environments

  • Knowledge of quality inspection techniques
