Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading business within the plant hire and equipment rental industry for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team in Tamworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy plant and construction equipment in a modern workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of plant and construction equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure equipment is prepared and available for hire.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Workshop Engineer, Plant Engineer, Workshop Fitter, Heavy Plant Technician, Agricultural Engineer, or HGV Technician.
  • Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
