We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled motor trade professional for the role of Workshop Controller at a flagship franchise dealership in Cardiff, South Wales.

Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership in Cardiff, South Wales, is recruiting for a Workshop Controller to lead their busy Service Department.

- Basic salary of £32,500 with a similar £39,500 OTE based on target achievement
- Potential earnings of £44,600+ with stretch bonuses for 15% over achievement of labour sales - 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service length

- Working hours Monday to Friday,
8.00am-
5.00pm, with one in three Saturday mornings paid at
1.5x - Opportunities for career advancement within a large, nationwide multi-brand dealer group
- Lead and manage the workshop team, including 7 Vehicle Technicians and 2/3 Apprentices
- Oversee daily workshop operations ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Liaise with Aftersales Manager to implement and maintain best practices
- Manage customer vehicle progress liaising with service reception
- Ensure workshop standards adhere to manufacturer and HSO standards
- Monitor key performance indicators and promote continuous improvement
- Identify and arrange training needs for team members
- Effectively allocate work based on team skills and capacity
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality
- Proven experience in managing a successful automotive workshop for at least three years
- Prior experience within a franchise-approved dealership is highly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Results-oriented with problem solving and decision-making abilities
- IT literate and familiar with dealership management systems
- Full UK driving licence with minimal points
- Reside within or near Cardiff or be able to commute easily
