We are working through Reed to recruit a compassionate, skilled and committed SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs in Reception. The RoleAs a SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Reception-aged pupil with SEND/SEMH needs
- Support the child's emotional, social and academic development
- Implement strategies to promote engagement, regulation and positive behaviour
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider staff team
- Support transitions, routines and learning within the classroom environment
- Maintain accurate observations and contribute to support plans
- Ensure safeguarding, welfare and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
To be considered, you must have:
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
- Experience working 1:1 with children, ideally in EYFS or early primary
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour support and emotional regulation skills
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children
- A professional, reliable and committed attitude
- A genuine interest in working overseas on a long-term basis
Relevant SEND, SEMH or Teaching Assistant qualifications are highly desirable.
