Salary: £33,912 - £38,218 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Summary

A Welsh speaking Work based learning Practitioner in Health and Social Care will work with learners across North Wales to assess qualifications, develop learning plans, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver knowledge sessions.

What you will do
  • Assess the full range of qualifications within the relevant subject area in line with Awarding organisation requirements.
  • Work with a caseload of learners across North Wales, determined by the relevant college caseload formula.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis, enrol learners on appropriate courses, and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities.
  • Deliver underpinning knowledge sessions to learners either on a 1-1 or workshop basis (recommended maximum group size 8).
  • Monitor learners' progress, give constructive feedback and guide them to prepare an e portfolio of evidence.
  • Assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal quality assurance.
Qualifications / Must haves
  • Qualified at a minimum level 4 or above in Health and Social Care.
  • Proven industry experience in health and social care management.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards an assessor qualification (TAQA).
  • Possess or be willing to work towards a Quality Assurance qualification (currently 401 TAQA Unit).
  • Level 2 English/Welsh and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards a Digital Literacy Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience in liaising and partnering with external managers in the industry.
  • Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Able to demonstrate personal resilience to cope with a range of difficult situations.
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to the maintenance and development of quality standards within education.
  • Able to communicate effectively through the medium of Welsh.
Welsh Language Requirement

Welsh skills are essential for this post. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in Welsh; proficiency is required.

Additional Information

This role is covered under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and requires an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check. Successful candidates may also need to register with the Education Workforce Council.
