Somerset OB/GYN Associates, an Axia Women's Health care center, is seeking a full-time Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with experience in OB/GTN & Women's Health.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive women's health care across the lifespan, including preventive care, gynecologic services, and support in obstetric care.
  • Practice under the standard procedure established for the Physician Assistant role consistent with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Conduct age-appropriate, comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Perform assessment data collection in a systematic manner focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Provide routine gynecologic care, including annual well-woman exams, PAP smears, breast exams, contraceptive counseling and management, STI and STD screening and treatment.
  • Assist in obstetric care, including prenatal and postpartum visits, patient education and counseling, and monitoring low-risk pregnancies.
  • Diagnose and manage common gynecologic conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, vaginitis, sexually transmitted infections, and menopause-related conditions.
  • Perform in-office procedures (e.g., IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, endometrial biopsies, colposcopies) within scope of practice and training.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative agreement.
  • Collaborate closely with OB/GYN physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Consult with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Provide patient education on preventive health, reproductive health, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
  • Perform other activities within scope of practice as determined by the group, including first assisting in surgical procedures, rounding on postpartum and post operative patients, and telephone triage.
  • Ensure smooth flow of patient care and coordinate with department members to meet quality indicators.
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients, families, and health care team members.
  • Apply safety principles and perform efficiently in emergency situations following protocols, staying calm and documenting events.
  • Adhere to legal issues such as patient confidentiality and risk management.
  • Demonstrate a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and team members.
Skills

Education & Experience
  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS).
  • NCCPA Board Certification.
  • 1+ years of OB/GYN or Women's Health experience desired (new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered).
  • Experience with office based procedures such as IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals, and endometrial biopsy.
  • Current unrestricted state Physician Assistant license, prescriptive authority, controlled substance registration, and DEA as required, or ability to obtain promptly.
  • Current BLS and/or ACLS as appropriate.
  • Completion of state CME requirements for license renewal.

Pay range: $90,000-$125,000 USD.

The posted salary range is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. Final offers may fall outside this range based on experience, skill set, location, hours, qualifications and other job related reasons. This range is for full time employment.
