Please note roles in other departments will be subject to a supplementary short selection process to ensure the right fit for the role.

What we need from you

To really make a difference to the communities we serve and meet their diverse range of needs, you will need to be customer centred with great interpersonal skills, and a confident and resourceful attitude to enable you to deal with highly challenging and occasionally emotionally or environmentally intense situations.

You will be passionate about making a difference, educating our communities on fire and other safety and wellbeing projects to deliver organisational objectives.

You will be a skilled communicator with the ability to work with a diverse range of people using a variety of engagement methods.

You will be a role model to others, not afraid to challenge behaviour and continually striving for personal and team improvement.

To be eligible to apply you must:
  • Be a wholetime substantive and competent Crew Manager who has demonstrated competence against the requirements of the NJC Crew Manager role map.
  • Hold a SFJ Level 3 Initial Incident Command (Level 1) or equivalent qualification
  • Hold a full and valid UK driving licence (unless you have a valid reason which prohibits you form driving)
  • Have an in-date fitness assessment (equal to or above VO2 max of 42.3)
  • Be in date for all your qualifications/maintenance of competence for your current role
  • Have no concerns from management relating to your conduct or performance
