Overview

As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Westbourne Tower Care Home, you will make a positive impact on residents' lives every day, using your compassion and dedication to improve well being.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents' physical, cognitive and social well being.
  • Maintain a safe living and working environment, contributing to a positive and professional image of the home.
  • Report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
  • Assist with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities.
  • Establish links with the local community (schools, spiritual groups, museums, libraries) to promote access to the wider community and intergenerational activity.
About You
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Experience working with older people in a residential nursing dementia setting.
  • Live the organisation's values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well being of people.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with older people in a residential nursing dementia setting is required.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to high quality activities.

  • ADBS Disclosure check - cost met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Submission for Disclosure and Barring Service check, subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
