Welding Engineer (IWE) - Ref.26-031 F/H

Context:

the project covers the repair of the plant's MSRs (Moisture Separator Reheaters). The successful candidate will lead the repair of all 4 MSRs to address cracking and ageing issues. They will work with a supervisor who manages a team of several welders across 2 shifts.

Your responsibilities:

• Define the repair strategy for the 4 MSRs (replacement, repair or redesign), drawing on the existing WPQR library and in line with the intent of the ECR.
• Implement weld overlay solutions (notably Inconel) to counter erosion.
• Review the MSR design and manufacturing documentation to identify other susceptible areas for investigation.
• Draft the welding books and work execution packages: ITP, WPQR/WPS, PED documentation, NCRs.
• Lead the qualification of new welding procedures (WPQR) where needed.
• Carry out on-site weld assessments, including in confined spaces.
• Manage non-conformities and corrective and preventive actions.

Assignment details:

• Location: Sizewell (Suffolk, UK), Monday to Friday
• Start: January 2027, for approximately 12-18 months
