Job Description
About the role

University of Staffordshire is looking for a Web Project Officer to join the Marketing, Brand and Voice department on a permanent basis.

Working across Marketing and Recruitment teams and the wider university, you'll be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and delivering digital projects throughout the academic cycle for staffs.ac.uk and related platforms, ensuring alignment with business and user requirements to support University KPIs.

Responsibilities
  • Champion the website governance framework - support editors with CMS training, share best practice, and ensure content is accurate, high quality and well maintained.
  • Lead SEO, accessibility and content standards by running regular quality checks and helping colleagues create compliant, user focused digital content.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the University to spot opportunities for smarter digital engagement and shape solutions that genuinely enhance the user experience and support recruitment goals.
  • Drive engaging online activity across our websites and digital platforms, seeking out innovative ways to reach and inspire prospective students.
  • Help keep our digital presence fresh and reliable by supporting timely content updates, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with technical experts to find effective solutions.
  • Use analytics tools and emerging digital trends to uncover insights, identify improvements, and continuously enhance the performance of our websites.
Qualifications

Experience and knowledge requirements - to be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience of working on large/enterprise scale, user focused websites within a complex organisation, with proven working knowledge of a variety of Content Management Systems.
  • Experience of undertaking auditing and enforcing website standards.
  • Experience of delivering support and training in the use of a web Content Management system.
  • Knowledge and experience of web analytics tools, specifically Google Analytics, for the purposes of reporting and informing decision making in relation to changes to websites.
  • Knowledge and awareness of HTML.
