Waterway Maintenance Operative - Outdoor & On Call

Canal & River Trust in Long Eaton is recruiting an Operative to maintain, repair and preserve the UK's historic canal and river infrastructure. The role is hands-on, outdoors, and essential to keeping waterways safe, accessible, and operational.

You'll work with the Direct Services team, supporting planned maintenance, emergency repairs and heritage restoration while upholding safety and environmental standards. The role involves on-call duties and collaboration with volunteers.
