Water Sampling Operative

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Water Sampling Operative to join their expanding two person sampling team.

You will be responsible for leading wastewater sampling activities across rivers, commercial premises, wastewater treatment works and wider wastewater networks within the client's catchment.

This is a full time role with flexibility required around working hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a two person team to collect wastewater samples from multiple locations
• Transport samples to the laboratory using refrigerated vehicles
• Work safely around confined spaces, watercourses and highways
• Provide excellent customer service when visiting commercial premises and client sites
• Complete paperwork accurately and maintain precise records
• Plan daily routes and work to deadlines
• Manually handle manhole covers and other heavy equipment
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Maintain flexibility for early starts, late finishes and occasional changes to working hours

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisational and route planning abilities
• Experience working outdoors or in physically demanding roles
• Ability to follow safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements
• Attention to detail and a methodical, process driven approach
• Reliability, flexibility and a strong work ethic
• Ability to identify hazards and complete dynamic risk assessments
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence

Health & Safety

• Manual handling of heavy items including manhole covers
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Work around confined spaces, watercourses and highways
