Yorkshire Water is looking for a Water Quality Sampling Officer to join our Water Service Delivery team. You will help ensure our customers receive safe, high quality drinking water and wastewater services.

Location: Base location will depend on the successful candidate's location within the region.
Working type: Permanent weekend opportunity, 37 hours per week over 4 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday).
What we doWe provide essential water and wastewater services to over 5.4 million residents and visitors in Yorkshire, ensuring clean drinking water and effective wastewater management 24/7, 365 days a year.
Where you fit inAs a Water Quality Sampling Officer, you will ensure compliance with water quality sampling regulations by conducting sampling at water treatment works, reservoirs and customer sites across the region.
Responsibilities- Carry out water quality sampling in line with WQ Sampling procedures, QMS and ISO17025 accreditation.
- Conduct random customer sampling as part of the regulatory programme.
- Resolve customer issues on site or report unresolved matters.
- Identify and report observations that could compromise compliance or pose a public health threat.
- Liaise with Water Quality Scientists, Production Engineers and Field Technicians regarding additional sampling needs or site issues.
- Report and mitigate health & safety or security issues.
- Comply with the company lone working policy.
- Operate and interrogate corporate systems (Advantex, RTS, Odyssey, Lab Systems).
- Demonstrate leadership behaviours using the Responsible Leader Framework.
- Effective internal relationships, team focus and customer service skills.
- Basic IT skills (Office, email) and willingness to learn.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service and resolving contacts.
- Understanding of potable water quality procedures.
- Experience working in a procedural and regulated environment.
- Full valid driving licence; enjoyable to drive considerable distances.
- Self motivation and ability to manage workload independently.
- Ability to work at heights and within enclosed spaces.
- Good sense of smell and taste for on site testing.
- Basic understanding of water treatment operations and distribution systems.
- Experience in the water or wastewater sector, or broader utilities/industrial environment.
- Proficient knowledge of corporate systems.
- Experience in a quality or sampling role.
- Understanding of Water Quality Regulations.
