Job Description
The Role

Environmental Regulation function is responsible for day to day management of environmental regulation and compliance. The function monitors compliance of the water and wastewater network and treatment works, influences external environmental policy, and manages environmental stakeholder relationships. It provides regulatory expertise to the business, including the Senior Leadership Team, on all aspects of environmental regulation and supports the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes that will affect Uisce Éireann policies.

Reporting to the Regional Wastewater Compliance Manager, the Wastewater Compliance Analyst will support the management of compliance activities in line with statutory and operational requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Regional Wastewater Compliance Manager with key wastewater compliance issues and implement sampling plans for the region.
  • Assist in the delivery of laboratory sampling services via local authorities, third party providers, or a combination of both.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Watewater Compliance Technical Leads and help develop briefing papers.
  • Support the development of risk mitigation and issue resolution action plans in coordination with operational teams to address non compliance causes.
  • Contribute to achieving the objectives and targets of the Environmental Regulation Business Plans.
  • Identify potential trouble sites via sampling data capture and epoch to the Regional Wastewater Compliance Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environment) procedures.
  • Liaise with Regional Operations/Environmental teams regarding identified risk areas.
  • Collaborate with the EPA and HSE to ensure sampling, operations, and reporting meet regulatory requirements.
  • Upload and manage data in EDEN MDS on a day to day basis.
  • Collect and collate data required for online incident notification to the EPA and other stakeholders.
  • Help manage statutory reporting requirements as part of the team.
General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.
  • Promote and deliver health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and meeting health and safety objectives.
  • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results within the Directorate and supporting organisation wide objectives.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with Uisce Éireann's information security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of business information.
  • Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation desirable.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries desirable and/or relevant experience.
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and to listen to diverse perspectives.
  • Strong background in upholding organisational values through decision making and constructive actions.
  • Highly motivated, capable of delivering results within a team at the highest professional standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and track record of resolving complex issues, with effective communication.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, ability to change focus in line with business strategy and requirements.
  • Proactive identification of improvement areas and implementation of new ways of working.
  • Experience in ownership of safety responsibilities and contribution to continuous improvement initiatives.
