Warehouse Team Leader

Working Location: Northampton, United Kingdom

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily inbound (receiving, QC, put-away) and outbound (picking, packing, dispatch) operations for the warehouse, achieving 99.5 % inbound/outbound timeliness.
2. Lead, schedule and appraise 10-15 team members (receivers, FLT drivers, pickers, packers); foster a safe, high-performance, continuous-improvement culture.
3. Enforce and sustain 5S, HSE and IATF 16949 standards to achieve zero accidents and zero non-conformities.
4. Proficient in WMS / SAP EWM for real-time postings; assist inventory keeper to resolve variances and implement corrective adjustments.
5. Apply Lean / Kaizen tools (VSM, dashboard, standard work) to cut annual operating cost and reduce dock-to-stock / pick-to-dispatch lead-time.
6. Liaise daily/weekly with commercial team, QC team, logistics team etc, to align ASN, dock appointments, dispatch windows and exception handling.

Ideal candidate profile:

• 3+ years experience of hands on warehouse supervision in automotive spare parts or high SKU warehouses, incl. 1+ years leading 10+ inbound/outbound staff.
• College diploma or above in Logistics, Supply Chain or related; CILT(UK) Level 3 or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in WMS / SAP EWM, RF scanning, Excel pivot tables; familiar with Lean / Six Sigma basics.
• Knowledge of UK HSE, ISO 9001, IATF 16949; valid UK FLT Reach & Counterbalance licence.
• Strong coaching, scheduling and problem solving skills; able to communicate in English with a multicultural team.
• Fluent English (written & spoken, B2+); Chinese or other European languages advantageous.
• Results oriented, detail focused, resilient; willing to work overtime during peak and occasional night/weekend shifts.
