Job Description
As a Warehouse Shipping Controller, you will support the achievement of GMP standards of quality, cost, and service within the warehouse shipping function.
Responsibilities- Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse shipping function, including collections, deliveries of finished goods, raw materials, components, and non inventory items, and manage storage locations.
- Manage transport requirements for all collections and deliveries and meet timely shipping requests.
- Compile the sterilizer weekly shipping plan, communicate with sterilizer sites, and adjust as required to align with business needs.
- Liaise daily with sterilization sites regarding all pre sterile and post sterile products.
- Review all Sales/Capital orders in Oracle and coordinate with P&IC to arrange shipments.
- Manage the picking and shipment of spares orders within required timelines.
- Ensure all shipments are packaged and transported in a manner that protects them from deterioration or damage, and process transactions in the inventory control system.
- Validate shipment paperwork for accuracy, compliance, and customer requirements.
- Adhere to dangerous goods shipping legislation and related training.
- Maintain proper audit trail for paperwork and filing to satisfy GDP requirements.
- Update weekly shipping and consolidation reports.
- Collaborate with QA on incoming/released products and with finance on invoicing and pricing.
- Coordinate with Trade Compliance on customs/export documents and liaise with the Belgium plant on shipping paperwork.
- Provide training and mentorship to warehouse operatives.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) are followed.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet business needs.
- Abide by Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and related documentation.
- Participate in compliance initiatives for EHS, ISO 13485, and FDA requirements.
Education
- Second level education or 2 years equivalent experience in a similar work environment.
- Logistics qualification or related training is an advantage.
Experience
- Two (2) years equivalent experience in a busy high volume warehouse environment.
- Shipping or relevant industry experience (customs, exports, imports, dangerous goods legislation) is a distinct advantage.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal leadership and effective communication across all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self initiative and teamwork ability.
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Oracle or similar ERP experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of warehouse equipment (forklift, reach truck, pallet truck) is an advantage; training will be provided.
- Understanding of material flow and inventory control.
- Customer first mindset for handling queries and process improvements.
