We are a positive, upbeat team seeking a motivated, organised individual to join us and manage our essential warehouse and purchasing functions.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Warehouse & Purchasing Manager to ensure smooth operations in our logistics and inventory management. This mid-level role is crucial for maintaining optimal stock levels, managing the flow of goods, and leading our small but dedicated warehouse team. You will be instrumental in improving operational efficiencies as we scale, leading by example by assisting with daily operational tasks to support the team and maintain our reputation for rapid dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management (Hands-on Leadership):

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of 8 warehouse operatives.

• Actively assist with day-to-day operations, including manual picking, packing, and processing of customer orders, to ensure team support and rapid dispatch times.

• Oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring all orders are processed accurately and efficiently within agreed timescales.

• Implement and maintain efficient layout, storage solutions, and operational procedures to optimise workflow and health & safety standards.

• Manage carrier relationships and coordinate daily shipping activities.

• Oversee regular stock counts and perpetual inventory checks to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.

Purchasing & Inventory Management:

• Manage inventory replenishment cycles using our e-commerce platform/internal reporting system.

• Monitor stock levels to prevent stockouts of critical candle-making supplies and manage obsolescence of stock.

• Liaise with existing suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and maintain strong vendor relationships.

• Coordinate incoming deliveries, ensuring goods received are inspected, documented, and stored correctly.

• Collaborate with theCEOto monitor the annual purchasing budget ( £300k), assisting with supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives.

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in a warehouse management, inventory control, or supply chain role, ideally within an e-commerce or retail environment.

Management: Experience in supervising or managing a small team is essential. Must be comfortable performing manual warehouse duties alongside the team.

Skills: Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in using inventory management software and the standard Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel).

Personal Attributes: Highly organised, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Location: Must be able to commute reliably to our facility in Warrenpoint, County Down.

Hours, Perks & Benefits

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40 hours per week), with flexibility required during peak seasonal periods.

Annual Leave: Standard annual leave allowance, which includes a two-week company closure over the Christmas period and a 5-day break over Easter (dates specified annually).
