WANTED: Full time groom for family yard - Gloucestershire

Overview

WANTED: Full time groom for family yard - Gloucestershire. We are a relaxed, friendly family with four children aged 13 to 6 who all ride. We are looking for an experienced, fun and easy going, child friendly groom to run our yard and assist with family riding and events.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all usual yard duties and liaise with vets, farriers, feed merchants, etc.
• Ensure the well-being of the horses/ponies and manage clipping and turning out to a high standard.
• Riding and handling routines around off-road hacking, arena work, leading, lunging and schooling as a regular duty.
• Help get ponies ready for activities and events, and assist at events, including dropping off and picking up from hunting.
• Take children to lessons when needed, and assist with school runs as required.
• Support a busy family environment and be able to muck in as part of the team.

Qualifications / Experience

• Experience with children and ability to take them to lessons when necessary.
• 7.5 tonne lorry licence is required.
• Ability to ride the 14.2hh ponies; the yard also has 3x14.2hh and 2x13.2hh ponies to keep fit, with a 16hh lead horse.
• Live in or live out option; accommodation is a lovely 3 bedroom cottage with a garden.
• 5.5 days per week availability.
• Energetic, willing to muck in with a busy family; current groom is relocating and leaves on 31st October.
