Waking Night Officer (Part Time - Bluebells Short Breaks) - Ref: CH02426

Grade G5: Salary Range £28,598 - £31,022 pro rata to hours worked, plus 15% unsociable hours payment.

Part Time: 20 hours per week. Working hours are 21:45 to 07:45, twice per week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, including school holidays and public bank holidays.

The Bluebells Short Breaks Service provides specialist overnight residential care for children and young people with physical and learning disabilities in the Walsall area.

We are seeking a waking night officer to provide overnight care and support to children who are overnight residents.

  • Provide direct care and support to children during overnight shifts.
  • Attend to a range of tasks relating to administrative and domestic duties while the service operates.
  • Respond effectively to potentially challenging and unexpected circumstances, acting on your own initiative.

Qualities and experience:

  • Experience working with children within a residential or similar setting.
  • Patient, nurturing and child focused, with a robust safeguarding approach.
  • Strong ability to work independently and respond to challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • Must be 22 years of age or older.
  • Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
