Volunteer for car washing and maintenance

We need more volunteers who can help us look after our vehicles for two or three hours a week, weekdays only, at our base in Hillington.

Tapping House relies on a small fleet of vehicles to support patient care, fundraising activities, and the day-to-day running of the hospice. Keeping these vehicles clean, safe, and well maintained helps present a good image of the hospice and allows everyone to carry out their roles properly.

Car washing and maintenance volunteers play an important part in supporting this work by helping to keep hospice vehicles clean and doing basic vehicle care jobs, as needed.

What you'll be doing

• washing and cleaning hospice vehicles - interior and exterior
• checking basic vehicle safety items such as tyre pressure, fluid levels, and lights
• reporting any damage, faults, or concerns
• making sure vehicles are left clean, tidy, and ready for use

You'll be expected to

• take care of the health and safety of yourself and others
• attend volunteer meetings and sessions whenever possible
• act within scope of your volunteering role at all times
• share your comments or concerns so they can be resolved quickly
• tell the people who need to know if you're going to be absent
