Volunteer College Governor - Shape Post-16 Education & Community

We are recruiting volunteer Governors for Gateway College in Leicester, which is part of the Better Futures Multi-Academy Trust (BFMAT), sponsored by Coventry University.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills,experienceand insight to help shape the future of post-16 education and support young people in our communities.

As a Governor, you will:

• Provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge
• Support andmonitoreducational performance and outcomes
• Contribute to financial oversight and risk management
• Championhigh standardsof teaching,learningand student experience

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in finance.

You do not need prior governanceor educationexperienceasafull induction and ongoing training will be provided.

The role involves attending aroundsixmeetings per year (a mixture ofonline and in-person andusually in the evening), reading papers in advance, and occasionally visiting theCollege or attending events.Collectively, thisequates to acommitment ofaround 1-2hours permonth, with flexibility to contributemore ifwilling and available. In return, you will make a real difference to learners' lives, develop your leadership skills, gain valuable governance experience, grow your professional network, and support your local community.
