Job Description
Overview

Are you enthusiastic about supporting and mentoring young people to develop their qualities and skills and enhance the relationship between the public and police? If so, Milton Keynes Police Cadets need you as a Volunteer Cadet Leader.

Responsibilities
  • Help plan and deliver activities covering a wide range of topics from policing to everyday skills like first aid.
  • Help arrange guest speakers and visits.
  • Support cadets' participation in community projects and events.
  • Mentor and encourage cadets as they develop into young adults, inspiring them to become positive role models within their communities.
Eligibility & Requirements
  • You must be 18 years or older to be eligible for this role.
  • Any officer or member of police staff can volunteer as a leader. TVP supports cadet leaders through Employer Supported Policing which allows time off during rostered duties and paid expenses.
Meeting Schedule

We meet weekly/fortnightly on a Wednesday evening to lead the Cadet lessons and occasionally on a weekend for community/policing events with Cadets.

Application Deadline

The closing date for enquiries and receipt of completed applications is Sunday 31st May 2026.

Vetting

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will depend on the role and its access requirements. We endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, although this may take longer due to operational demand and back logs.
