Job Description

Role: VMware Consultant
Location: Hybrid - London with occasional travel to Edinburgh
Duration: 10 weeks + with the opportunity to extend
Rate: Market Rates

Responsibilities
  • Discovery and analysis: Lead workshops, collect configuration and operational data, validate dependencies and constraints, and confirm application criticality and SLAs.
  • Architecture and planning
  • Readiness reporting: Deliver an executive summary, detailed findings, gap analysis etc
  • Select appropriate tooling and methods
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Governance and documentation: Produce HLD/LLD, and operational handover materials; ensure traceability and version control.
Skills Required
  • VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere/ESXi, NSX, vSAN.
  • Dell platforms commonly found in VxBlock (compute, networking, storage arrays).
  • SRDF management on enterprise arrays; RP4VM administration.
  • LCM tooling (SDDC Manager, vLCM), configuration/observability tools, and documentation platforms.
  • One or more of the following certifications are desirable: VCP-DCV required; VCAP-DCV/VCIX/VCDX, Dell/EMC: Dell Proven Professional (storage and data center tracks), ITIL: Foundation
