Reference: VE/GCSE/Drama(NS)

A GCSE Drama (2016 Specification) Visiting Examiner will be responsible for marking candidates' performance by visiting centres and ensuring the overall standards are maintained.

Centre visits involve marking examination work, conducting and marking oral examinations, or observing candidates during practical examinations as part of the marking process. Visits are scheduled by agreement between the Visiting Examiner and the centre.

We are particularly seeking examiners in the following areas:

  • AVON
  • CLEVELAND
  • CAMBRIDGESHIRE
  • GLOUCESTERSHIRE
  • HEREFORD & WORCESTER

Responsibilities:

  • Visit centres to mark candidate performances according to published criteria, maintaining standards.
  • Report any issues encountered during assessments to Pearson.
  • Manage an assigned number of local centres.
  • Submit written reports to the Chief Examiner and/or Team Leaders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified teacher status.
  • One full academic year's teaching experience within the last 8 years, relevant to the qualification and subject, since qualifying as a teacher.
  • High subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • IT literacy.
