Birmingham Virtual School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Education Placement Officer to work alongside our families, young people, social care and other local authorities supporting children in care to secure appropriate and timely education provision /school placements.
This is an outward facing role, responsible for securing in year school admission applications and timely submission at normal admission round application. You will be developing and managing key relationships to secure a good or better education placement.
Responsibilities and experience required:- Working in schools, other education provisions or a local authority with knowledge of admissions procedures and knowledge of DfE guidance on school admissions code requirements.
- Advocating for children and the family.
- Working directly with vulnerable young people and families.
- Working with senior professionals, multi agency partners, and external services supporting children in care.
