Imaginarium Studios is a global pioneering Performance Capture and Virtual Production company founded by Andy Serkis. Our performance-led capture and virtual production services help bring to life characters of all kinds. We are proud to have worked on award winning and globally acclaimed projects from AAA games to TV shows, from Hollywood blockbusters to music videos and immersive experiences.

Our capture studios are based on Goldfinger Avenue at the world famous Pinewood Studios, UK and our head office is based within the Cinesite global HQ, close to the creative hub of Soho in Central London.

The Role

The Virtual Production Technician role is a full time role that is based out of N Stage at Pinewood Studios. It is a vital role within the Virtual Production team, helping ensure projects run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

On-Set

  • One of the main responsibilities for this position is to operate MotionBuilder and Unreal
    Engine during shoot days
  • Preparing props, assets, character rigs and environments for the Motion Capture shoots in MoBu and UE
  • Live reacting to feedback and making scene adjustments based on client requests
  • Assist the stage team with Actor ROMs, Volume Cals and Props
  • Maintaining a high level of data quality throughout the pipeline

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a Virtual Production or MoCap environment using
    Unreal Engine
  • Proactive attitude to tasks and ability to independently work on projects as necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and diplomacy
  • Highly computer literate
  • An expressed interest in working in Film / TV / Video Games
  • The ability to get to and work from Pinewood Studios, Iver
  • Experience using Autodesk Motion Builder
  • Familiarity with Vicon Shogun or similar optical motion capture software.
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Computer Animation, VFX, Tech Art or similar subject
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Maya or another similar DCC
    Familiarity with Unreal Blueprints, Python and/or C++
  • Experience working on-set
  • Interest in immersive experiences and emerging technologies
  • Experience in using Perforce and Multiuser in UE5
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • This role is based at Pinewood Studios in Iver. Due to the site location and public transport limitations, having a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is strongly recommended.
