- Full-time: 4 days per week (longer days, circa 12 hours)
- OOH: External provider handles after-hours; in-hours on-call to 18:00 at weekends with nurse support.
- 15-minute consults as standard with protected same-day access for urgent cases.
- High surgical throughput across multiple theatres, including a clean orthopaedic theatre.
- Senior track available: clinical leadership, mentoring junior vets, and helping drive service development during planned expansion.
- Balanced caseload: consults, routine and non-routine surgery, imaging, and case work-ups.
Salary up to £80,000 DOE
The exact salary within this banding will be awarded commensurate on experience.
Location: Near Redditch
Candidate Requirements- Experienced and autonomous small animal vet able to "hit the ground running" in a busy setting.
- Confident with general practice; surgical bias welcomed; imaging/ultrasound confidence beneficial (not essential).
- Calm, pragmatic communicator who enjoys collaborating across a mixed-experience team.
- Comfortable supporting and mentoring newer colleagues.
- Values the clinical freedom and culture of an independent practice.
- Open to progression, including leadership responsibilities and potential future equity options.
- Independently owned since the 1960s with a loyal, multi generation client base.
- Team: 5.5 FTE vets, including three highly experienced partners; strong RVN team with a Head Nurse and active training program.
- Facilities: multiple consult rooms; three theatres (main theatre with two tables plus a dedicated clean ortho theatre); dedicated dental and X ray areas.
- Equipment: digital radiography, dental X ray, flexible and rigid endoscopy, modern ultrasound with abdominal and cardiac probes, multi-parameter monitoring, operating microscope via visiting ophthalmologist.
- Caseload: busy first-opinion GP, orthopaedics in clean theatre, regular visiting ophthalmology.
- Workflow: structured consulting blocks with surgery running concurrently; nurse consults interleaved for efficient throughput.
- Salary up to £80,000 DOE.
- CPD open and flexible; certificate support considered (including potential buy out with an appropriate agreement).
- Senior development pathway with leadership opportunities.

- Exposure to varied caseload including exotics (birds, reptiles, small furries).
