Job Description

A very rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to join a well established, independently owned tier 3 hospital in Lancashire. If you feel like you've reached the ceiling in your current role and lacking a varied caseload to progress, then this is exactly what you are looking for. With referrals taken from all over the country, you'll never be short of opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill set. You will have access to an on-site CT scanner and MRI so someone with an interest in diagnostic imaging or medicine will be right at home here. You'll work alongside an experienced, friendly and supportive 8-vet team which consists of a an advanced practitioner and multiple certificate holders. You will also be supported by 12 nurses and dedicated practice management team who allow you to do what you do best, being a vet.

Being privately owned, you won't be restricted by corporate processes and your views and opinions will be truly valued and listened to. You'll be joining a business who look after their employees, providing plenty of out-of-work social events for staff, no limit on CPD and certificate funding, and a great work-life balance. You'll enjoy a 4-day week (with set day off), 1-in-7 Saturday mornings only and no OOH. Your time outside of work is protected to the best of their abilities, with extra effort made to ensure everyone finishes at 6pm.

Independently owned RCVS accredited tier 3 hospital and referral centre in WiganLarge purpose-built site with 7 consult rooms, multiple large ops theatres and prep areasState-of-the-art facilities including on site CT Scanner & MRI, Orthopaedics kit, in house lab, and everything else you'd expect in an industry leading hospitalReferrals taken from across the country in areas including diagnostic imaging, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, dermatology and more8 vet team with an advanced practitioner and multiple certificate holders in various clinical areas10 RVNs, 2 SVNs, practice manager and other support staffFriendly and fun work environment (practice funds 2 big social events every year, all expenses paid corporate box at the races this year!)Very organised practice, everyone usually leaves on time at 6pm during the week!Opportunity to do usual 1st opinion work, or progress to referral level in your preferred area if you wish - perfect place for someone who feels stagnant in their current role4-day week (9am - 6pm) happy to consider other working patterns that work for the individual (5 shorter days, or PT for example).1 in 7 Saturday mornings only No appointments, Saturdays are just for patient discharges onlyNo OOH
