Veterinary Surgeon - St Helens

Salary: £38,000-£60,000 DOE. Excellent benefits. Location: Near Liverpool & Manchester. Flexible working available.

This RCVS accredited Tier 3 hospital and training practice is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:

• Digital X ray
• Endoscopy and dental radiography
• Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery equipment
• 64 slice CT scanner
• 5T MRI scanner

The practice has a strong focus on clinical excellence, professional development, and certificate led progression, making it an ideal environment for vets looking to advance their careers.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and experienced veterinary team and will be responsible for:

• Delivering high quality consultations and case work ups
• Performing routine surgeries including neutering and minor procedures
• Undertaking sole charge branch work (approximately 50% of the role), with the option for branch only work supported by the main hospital

The role provides exposure to a varied caseload and the opportunity to work alongside certificate holders in medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging, as well as colleagues currently pursuing further qualifications.

Working Pattern & Flexibility

4 day working week.

• Weekend rota: 1 in 8 full weekends (Saturday & Sunday), or 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday in 8 weeks
• Occasional out of hours cover for holiday or sickness
• Flexible working options are available and can be tailored to suit individual preferences

• Experienced Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS)
• Confident in routine surgical and medical cases
