Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Salary: £38,000-£60,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

Location: Near Liverpool & Manchester Flexible Working Available

About the Practice

This RCVS-accredited Tier 3 hospital and training practice is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including:

  • Digital X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy and dental radiography
  • CO laser
  • Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery equipment
  • 64-slice CT scanner
  • 5T MRI scanner

The practice has a strong focus on clinical excellence, professional development, and certificate-led progression, making it an ideal environment for vets looking to advance their careers.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and experienced veterinary team and will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high quality consultations and case workups
  • Performing routine surgeries including neutering and minor procedures
  • Undertaking sole charge branch work (approximately 50% of the role), with the option for branch only work supported by the main hospital

The role provides exposure to a varied caseload and the opportunity to work alongside certificate holders in medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging, as well as colleagues currently pursuing further qualifications.

Working Pattern & Flexibility
  • 4 day working week
  • Weekend rota:
  • 1 in 8 full weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
  • or
  • 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday in 8 weeks
  • Occasional out of hours cover for holiday or sickness

Flexible working options are available and can be tailored to suit individual preferences.
