Overview

Veterinary Surgeon - Derbyshire/Sheffield area, with two conveniently located sites near Sheffield and Chesterfield. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, family run independent practice in Derbyshire, where exceptional animal care meets a supportive and welcoming environment. Established over 30 years ago, this practice is a cornerstone of the community, renowned for its expert care and commitment to both patients and clients. You'll enjoy a fantastic work-life balance amidst the stunning backdrop of the Peak District.

The practice is led by an experienced Clinical Director and supported by a close-knit team. The team includes four Veterinary Surgeons (one with a certificate in small animal surgery and another with a Cert AVP in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery), five RVNs, two SVNs, three ANAs, two receptionists, and a compassionate Practice Manager. The ethos is collaboration, development, and a positive working culture.

The caseload is varied and rewarding, encompassing charity work, BOAS cases, and TTA surgeries. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, laparoscopy, fully equipped operating theatres, dental X-ray, in-house lab, ECG, and in-house orthopaedic referrals, providing every tool you need to deliver top quality care.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience as a Veterinary Surgeon, a genuine passion for veterinary medicine, and excellent communication skills. A compassionate, client focused approach is essential, alongside the confidence to manage a diverse and exciting caseload.   • Full time - 4 day week (part-time applicants considered)
  • Mondays or Fridays off
  • Flexible working patterns
  • 1:4 Saturdays, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • No OOH
  • 15 minute consultations with allocated admin & coffee breaks
