Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a much-loved, well-established small animal clinic that's been a trusted part of its community for years in North London, Zone 2. This friendly, welcoming practice is looking for a confident, personable vet who enjoys building lasting client relationships and delivering high-quality, first opinion care.

The Opportunity

This is a four-day-per-week role, ideal for a vet seeking a long-term position in which they can truly make a difference and become part of a close-knit local community. The role focuses on general practice work - performing first opinion consultations and minor surgeries, as well as triaging emergencies when required.

It's an excellent fit for a vet who is comfortable with sole charge and thrives in a consultative environment, offering both autonomy and meaningful client interaction.

Support and Collaboration

While this is a sole-charge role, the vet will have strong support from an experienced colleague, as well as ongoing guidance from a dedicated regional manager and regional head vet. The practice is also backed by nearby partner clinics and a 24-hour veterinary hospital, providing easy access to advice, referral support, and out-of-hours patient care when needed.

Rota and Hours

The rota consists of Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with participation in a 1 in 4 branch Saturday and 1 in 8 hospital Sunday rotation, plus up to 2 bank holidays per year. There is also an occasional "last resort" on-call duty for the wider region - though this is very infrequent.

Location

Nestled in the popular and very sought after location in North London near Holloway, with the underground on your doorstep, green spaces and all the bright lights of London for you to explore.

Rewards and Benefits

This sole-charge position offers a competitive salary of £60,000 to £75,000 (FTE), depending on experience, with plenty of scope for growth within the role.

Additional benefits
  • 6.6 weeks' annual leave, including bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Visa Sponsorship
  • Up to £2,000 CPD budget annually plus 5 days' paid CPD leave
  • Private Medical Healthcare Insurance
  • Access to a comprehensive employee benefits and wellbeing package

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, community-minded vet who takes pride in providing compassionate, first-class care - all within a supportive, forward-thinking network that values both professional excellence and work-life balance.
