Job Description
Cliffe Equine Hospital, Laughton, South East

Equine Vet required to join our RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital with exciting career progression opportunities.

We are looking for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join our forward-thinking team. We are a progressive practice with full hospital and surgical facilities and a commitment to good work-life balance and team culture.

The opportunity to work up your own cases at the hospital and establish your own referral case load is encouraged and supported. You will be backed up for field and ambulatory procedures by a team of Equine Nurses and have the full support of our resident Specialist in Equine Sports Medicine.

Full, part-time and flexible working hours will all be considered and progression plans are available for the right candidate.

About us

We are an established RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital based just outside Lewes in the East Sussex countryside. Lewes is a vibrant market town just a short drive from Brighton and with direct trains to Gatwick Airport (30 minutes) and London Victoria (1hr).

We are very well equipped with 20 inpatient stables, full surgical and hospital facilities, hospital and ambulatory diagnostic equipment and an extensive range of treatment technology.

Our in-house laboratory makes it easy for our vets to run a variety of haematological and biochemical tests on site.

Our dedicated Equine Dental Technicians cover all routine dentals, meaning vets are not required to do so unless they have a specific interest.

We currently run a 1 in 5 out-of-hours rota, and 50% is outsourced, meaning on alternate weeks, only hospital admission cases and inpatient care is required.

Our two onsite House Vets are responsible for the majority of day-to-day inpatient care while supporting the ambulatory team when needed.

How we give back

We play a huge part in our local area, supporting numerous equine charities and riding schools. We also host multiple client events throughout the year, of which the proceeds are donated to various charities.

At Cliffe Equine, we're committed to minimising the impact of our daily routine work on the environment.

Alongside our two hybrid vehicles, we now have three fully electric Audis, equating to over 50% of our fleet being electric. By making these small changes on our sustainability journey, we'll continue to take concrete steps to reduce our carbon emissions.
