Job Description
Devon Tyres is a locally built business whose main goal is delivering a fantastic customer experience. We are currently looking for a Vehicle Technician to join our team who takes as much pride in their work as we do.
Our Vehicle Technicians are responsible for carrying out quick and light mechanical repairs in our Exeter based garage such as Tyre fitting, puncture repairs, vehicle alignment, exhausts, and brake replacements. Ensuring work is always carried out cleanly and to the highest standards. You will also be responsible for quoting and booking in Customers for both the garage and mobile side, along with delegating work.
We offer a 7 days a week emergency mobile tyre fitting service which you will be required to cover within the role.
We are currently seeking candidates to cover Weekdays, and will be expected to participate in the on call mobile tyre fitting scheme during evenings and weekends on a rota'd basis. so, a get up and go attitude and willingness to work all hours and overtime is essential.
We cover the whole of Devon and days can be long, so this is not for the light hearted! You could cover both ends of Devon in a day, and travel out of area for emergencies, so the love of driving and travel is essential.
You'll also be responsible for the safe keeping, and driving of the Devon Tyres van and all equipment.
About you:
NVQ Level 1-3 or equivalent qualification related to the Automotive industry.
You will have experience in mechanical and/or fast fit repairs which may include wheel alignment, brakes, suspension, general servicing and repair of vehicles and much more.
Experience of tyre fitting, gained either in a garage or on the road.
Experience of providing great face to face customer service.
The ability to act on your own initiative and identify the best way forward.
Be willing to go above and beyond and work till all jobs are completed.
Assist emergency and breakdown services on busy roadsides.
Ability to fault find and problem solve to get the customer back up and running.
Stock management.
Ensuring paper work is returned completed.
Dedicated work ethic.
Flexible on times and days working.
A full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points or drink driving enforcement.
An understanding of Health & Safety. regulations and practices.
This role is an initial temporary position with the potential of becomming permanent after probation, overtime and on call duties available after the initial training period.
