Job Description

Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a Vehicle Architecture Lead Engineerto join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

The position is responsible for the engineering integration process for vehicle architectures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop the vehicle technical specifications and attributes across vehicle architectures.
  • Lead and resolve complex multifunctional engineering problems.
  • Be able to balance competing attributes and requirements to define the optimum engineering solution.
  • Analysis of current and future technologies and competitor products to ensure the future competitiveness of our client's products by influencing client's strategies, coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.
  • Problems faced are difficult and often complex.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and Cross-functional Vehicle Systems.
  • Enthusiasm for vehicles and their development.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interpret technical information.
  • Good IT literacy eg. ability to create and manage presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience of whole vehicle development and validation.
  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools, e.g. Six sigma methods.
  • Previous experience of leading technical issue resolution.

Education Required:

  • Relevant engineering degree or other technical degree.
