Job Description
Overview

The purpose of the role is to drive cost optimisation and value enhancement across Aalberts-IPS valve product lines. This role focuses on analysing designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions without compromising performance, safety or compliance. The role is integral to Aalberts objectives, ensuring products meet customer needs while aligning with business objectives for profitability and environmental responsibility.

Role and Responsibilities

Apply value engineering principles to valve designs and related products to reduce cost and complexity while maintaining quality and function.

Identify opportunities for material substitution, design simplification, and process improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with R&D, Procurement, Operations, and Quality teams to implement cost saving initiatives across EMEA, facilitate workshops to generate innovative ideas for product and process optimisation, and manage Value Engineering projects.
  • Supplier & Market Engagement - Collaborate with global and regional suppliers to source alternative components and materials that meet Aalberts' standards for performance and sustainability; benchmark industry best practices and emerging technologies for valve systems.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting - Conduct cost benefit analyses and present findings to stakeholders; track and report savings achieved through value engineering projects.
  • Compliance & Sustainability - Ensure all changes comply with international standards, safety regulations, and Aalberts' sustainability goals; support initiatives that reduce environmental impact through material efficiency and lifecycle optimisation.
Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 5+ years in engineering, product development, or cost optimisation roles ideally within fluid control or valve technology; experience in manufacturing and supply chain environments preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD tools and cost analysis software; strong understanding of valve design, materials, and manufacturing processes; good understanding of prevailing legislation and standards.

Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; strong communication and negotiation abilities; ability to work collaboratively across departments and regions.
