About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity at the British Museum to contribute to the digital vision and implementation of the Endangered Material Knowledge Programme, which focuses on the digital preservation of critically threatened material knowledge globally. This role will carry out a wide-ranging audit of digital platforms and functionalities, focusing on improving workflow, architecture, and expanding public usability and accessibility. If you have strong digital skills and experience, along with sensitivity to cultural knowledge preservation and curation, we would love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and refine digital audit workflows and contribute to asset audits to minimize errors and ensure data quality.
- Refine and optimize repository publication workflows to ensure efficient procedures, strengthen risk management, and reduce turnaround times.
- Review repository layout for better data retrieval and improved public accessibility, including developing user-friendly public platforms for repository dissemination (e.g., website search platform via API).
- Review and refresh website architecture and design to expand its scope as a portal for diverse EMKP users and communities.
