Vacancy for a Lead Applications Developer at the Archaeology Data Service

University of York - King's Manor, York city centre, offering a salary of £40,927 - £50,296 plus additional market supplement, based on experience.

The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is a world-leading digital repository which provides digital data archiving services for UK archaeology. The ADS is a recognised component of UKRI's research infrastructure and holds the Core Trust Seal. Based in the University of York, ADS works closely with external partners, both in Higher Education and in the public and commercial archaeological sectors.

This is a new role designed to increase the applications development capacity of the ADS, lead on improving the current applications stack and enhancement of services, and lead the small team of developers in evolving best practices and skills training. You will lead a team that develops web applications across all areas of ADS activity, providing line management and senior technical leadership to developers working on new projects and supporting existing services.

Key responsibilities include taking a hands-on development role, working collaboratively to define common approaches to application development and integration, and developing the team's adoption of Agile ways of working.

This is a Full Time, Fixed Term role for 3 years. To apply, please visit the University of York applications portal.
